Llangranog...
It’s rare to see a guidebook or calendar featuring Welsh beaches that doesn’t have a picture of Llangranog. This beautiful little cove is eight miles south of New Quay and to the north of Tresaith.
The village has two pubs, The Ship and the Pentre, as well as a couple of small gift shops.

Swimming is safe on the main beach and the two car parks are both pretty close to the seashore. The other, more secluded beach, is around the headland and can be reached via a footpath from the road. It’s a pretty a steep pathway with a lot steps down the cliff so not really recommended for less fit folk. You can also just wait for low tide and walk around but you need to check locally for tides.
There are some great walks along the Ceredigion's Heritage Coast, the most spectacular walk leading up from the village, beyond the hidden Cilborth beach.
Llangrannog has a special significance within Wales for just up the road is a residential facility operated by Urdd Gobaith Cymru - Wales's League of Youth. The extensive range of sports and leisure facilities on offer by the Urdd - including a dry ski slope - are also accessible to the public. It’s a good idea to ring first though, just to make sure it’s open.
Getting There
Out of the park and turn right on the A486 towards Synod Inn. At the junction, turn right on to the A487 towards Cardigan. After 5 miles (at the second sign post for Llangranog) turn right and follow the road for two miles. This road is VERY narrow with some nasty bends on the approach to the village so please drive carefully.
